John Buddenbaum (left) and Eric Noyes broke a 50 year old NSU record with their 50 cc (3 cu. in.) streamliner.

They upped the record from 121.7 mph to 133.895 mph. The only catch is they didn't pay the FIM fees, so the record is an AMA record which the SCTA doesn't recognize at this time. Doesn't make any difference to me. They did two runs over the same mile, opposite directions and did the 133, just didn't pay for the FIM recognition. They plan on running SCTA at World Finals in October, so they have a good chance of replacing the NSU record in the SCTA record book. Go get it guys!!

Max Lambky's beautiful twin Vincent streamliner. I've seen this liner at Speed Week before. At least I thought I had, but I guess this might be about the 3rd one he has built and always thought there was just one.

The liner must have the lowest frontal area of any that run there with maybe E-Z-HOOK being the same or less. The twin motors are beautiful, but always seem to have some problem on the course.

Another really beautiful liner is the J & P Cycles Harley powered Streamline. The body has some history and I'll probably get this wrong (correct me if you know the answer), but I think it was maybe used by Don Vesco before and was built by Bob George, who sold it to Scott Guthrie, who sold it to Kent Riches ( Airtech ), with J & P finally ending up with it.

The crew and J & P have done a really nice job with the liner and I want to thank them for answering all of my dumb questions.

They had driver/rider problems and switched during the meet and were really only able to get in one decent pass on the last day when Leo Hess drove it to 181 mph, but that was just a "get use to it run". This liner will go much faster than that.

I talked to "California Fritz" quite a bit about his liner (thanks again for your time). He runs Speed Week and other events. He ran a very respectable 215 mph time and again, but wasn't happy as something was holding the rpm at that level. He worked on the rev limiter, but think that didn't do the trick either.

Here he is with his wife in staging. I'm sure he has a 220-230 mph run in this Harley powered liner.

And this is the liner that had the record that Ack, Bub, and E-Z-HOOK were all after. Nice to see it again after last seeing it in the early 90's.
